Steroid injection: You may a disease called dequervain's tenosynovitis.  It is tedonitis of the wrist.  It is common after pregnancy.  I would try and see an orthopaedic surgeon, especially a hand surgeon.  If this is in fact your diagnosis, you might be a candidate to a steroid injection.

after running 25k for charity i had doms, also 48 hours later my ankle swelled and became painful. is there delayed onset tendonitis? if so rice?

Delay onset : There can be a delay of the onset the tendon needs to get swollen and inflammed before you feel pain in some cases it sounds like you need an xray it could take 2 weeks for s stress injury to show but podiatrist or ankle specialist   orthopod can be very helpful in getting the correct diagnosis and treatment plan usually riice is helpful but get a specialist to take a look thats a big run and many.

See PCP: Consider wearing Ankle Support or Firm Socks to support ankle during activities and then go see PCP for examination, possible imaging and appropriate treatment. The longer one waits before treatment, the greater the chance for permanent and/ or chronic injury.  See PCP
