how does current cholesterol numbers tell doctors about plaques that are already formed? do these numbers show future risk?

Not that great.: They only tell risk of atherosclerosis. At most they are associated with about half the risk. The highest versus the lowest risk categories have quite a different level of risk (almost a 10 fold difference). That being said, it is tiny compared to the risk associated with actually knowing you HAVE atherosclerosis (risk is over 10% yearly if you've had a heart attack, under 1% if you have not at 50

Epilepsy: You should be treated for epilepsy. Sometimes people can experience a prolonged seizure which can cause damage to brain, talk to your doctor.

Honesty: Just be honest, and hopefully any physician with a good bed side manner will be able to explain to you the risks and benefits of any procedure,...and as the patient, you will always have the ultimate final word on what treatment you choose.  Best wishes.

i had my big toenail permanently removed and its fully healed but it healed to look like a toenail it looks so much like a toenail i have to tell doctors it not i know its not a toenail as it healed like this and it doesnt grow but is that normal?

: If the nail has not grown back then the nail bed , which is what remains, can have hard skin looking like a nail. You can try creams. See a podiatrist if continue concerns

Frustration: I guess the doctors are trying to help based on their knowledge and training. While they may be following required care standards they are unlikely to compel you to receive any care that is not mandated by law. Hence you can cancel the doctor patient relationship by informing your doctor and could change to another.

Birthmark terror: You should feel comfortable telling your doc almost anything. Professionals should not discount your feels about any problem. If they do, get another doctor!

Talking to Doctors: You must have the courage to discuss this in detail with your doctors.  If you can't bring yourself to talk to the doctor, then try writing  a letter and handing it to the doctor directly.  You may get a relative or friend to help you speak with your doctor.

Knee issue: Tell the doctor. That's why you have these physicals. There may be something that is easily corrected. Or, there may be something that should be addressed now so it doesn't get worse as you get older.

It has far less value as a "screening test." a normal sed rate can be helpful in ruling out different conditions.
