my 7 year old son has a raised bump next to his iris on the white part ofhis eye. he was given a gel  by the md and now its back in the other eye! ?

See below: Since i don't know what the diagnosis was (although i can speculate), i would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for further advise.

evaporative dry eyes. use genteal gel 2x/day n tears naturale (artificial tears) 4-6x. still not comfy when windy. is restasis or plugs a better option? risks?

Time for punctal plu: It appears that you need to go to next step of dry eye treatment. have you tried Restasis? If not I would start with that and also punctal plugs. They can try the collagen plugs first and see if you see improvement and then try the permanent plugs.

i started using a steroid gel for my dermatitis instead of a cream. it is .025% triamcinolone. i was used to the cream drying fast. when i wiped under my eye into the corner of my eye (tear duct). i was worried i got it in my eye. is that dangerous?

: Prob not as long as you flushed area with cold water. Suggest you consider seeing dermatologist for this problem and possibly using a lower dose steroid cream or even a non steroid cream such as elidel for the facial rash.

g'day. i just found a couple of boxes at home of 28 individual plastic vials of "thera tears" lubricant eye gel (preservative free. active ingredient sodium carboxymethylcellulose 1%) expiry july 2018 & wondering if they are still okay to use? thanks?

No!: Liquid or soft (paste, cream, gel etc) medications should not be used beyond their expiration date. Dry medicines (tablets, capsules, powder etc), if they appear intact with no change in texture or color, may be used for a short time after their expiration but with due caution (monitor their effectiveness and side effects)

dr found dry eyes. gave systane ultra (ud). are these artificial tears? dr also gave me hypromellose gel 0.03%. why no restasis or lotemax (loteprednol) eye drops?

Most people: with dry eyes do not need anti-inflammatory treatment.  They do well with just topical lubricants.

what can i do regarding sore, dry eyes in the morning? ophthalmologist diagnosed eye allergies and dry eyes. using restasis & cromolyn eye drops. artificial tears as needed and warm/cool compresses. at night i use systane gel 2 drops per eye?

: As I am sure your ophthalmologist recommended, avoid any irritants in your environment … smoke, vape, chemicals, etc and, if possible, keep in a hydrated environment (humidity)

11months old has a dandruff like patch in the head. back when he was 3 months old in india our dr suggested atonide gel. can we use it now.

Doctor can evaluate: Baby dandruff is called cradle cap in the U.S.  Sometimes the doctor will recommend using Hydrocortisone for a few days, but he will want to see the child before deciding on using cortisone steroids on the scalp.  Atonide is not a U.S. Drug, but websites say it is desonide, which would be stronger than the over-the-counter Hydrocortisone 1% cream.

Cold packs: Usually not a big problem. Can be irritating to eye area, but with flushing and cold, moist compresses it will quiet down.  Use of eye drops like for contact lenses is fine to use.  If there is much irritation or if it lasts more than a couple of days, you should go to urgent care for examination or to eye doctor for more specific care.

i used systane anytime gel drops while my contacts were in.  could this damage my eyes or contacts?

No effect: These drops are compatible with tears and with contact lenses.  There will be no effect whatsoever.

which eye drops can i use to moisten my eyes? i have used oxyal but it is expensive. gel is clustering on my eye so not working. any other choices?

Accepted Answer

Many other: Choices and all are non prescription: systane ultra, refresh optive or celluvisc, Genteal, threat ears are all good drops to try.
