what do you suggest if i want to see if i have fibroids what do i ask my dr for?

Exam and ultrasound: Fibroids are benign (non cancerous) tumors of the uterus that are associated with painful, heavy periods.  

They are diagnosed by taking a good history and performing an exam and ultrasound.

They can be treated with medications that are hormonal or non-hormonal, and they are also commonly treated surgically by removing the fibroid (s) or the entire uterus.

before i got my fibroids i wanted to see was i going through pre-menopause because i was having hot flashes and i haven't had periods but i wasn't going through pre menopause then after finding that out i got my fibroids removed i thought that would help

Unclear: I am unclear what ur question is.  There is no direct relationship between fibroids and perimenopause.  Fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus.  Estrogen levels, age, race, and genetics may play a role in the development and growth of fibroids.  See your clinician if they cause severe pain or heavy bleeding.  Menopause usually leads to necrosis and resolution of fibroids due to estrogen decline.

i'll be going for a urine  and blood test drug screen for employment & i've fibroids ,can they see that ?please answer in  honest to this question.thx

No: No. Blood and urine tests do not detect fibroids. Imaging like ultrasound and CTs do.

i went to see a gynecologist yesterday who has stated that i have fibroids and need to have surgery. is it advisable to seek a second opinion or should i first try natural remedies to try and shrink them before opting for surgery?

2nd opinion needed: Uterine fibroids grow in response to your natural &amp; artificial estrogen production over time. Surgery is one of many options for treatment including physician prescribed medications, focused ultrasound, uterine artery ablation, watchful waiting if contemplating future pregnancy. Natural remedies are generally not helpful. However, an informed 2nd  MD opinion can help you sort through the options

blood tests negative, feeling baby kick, how can i determine my pregnancy using other blood tests. fibroids make them not see anything on ultrasound.

Early Pregnancy: I am not quite sure what blood tests were done on you but i would presume that you have a very early pregnancy for them not to see the baby on ultrasound. If this is so, one is not able to feel the baby's kick until around 18-20 weeks gestation for a first pregnancy. A blood test, beta hcg, correlated with a transvaginal ultrasound will give you more information regarding the age of the pregnancy.

extremely painful cramps on right side near ovary, also during sex too. what could it be? i had an ultrasound, but they didn't see any fibroids/cysts.

Pelvic pain: must be examined, diagnosed and treated. Pain during sexual intercourse may be due to the fact that you are only 16....are you protecting yourself from STDs and pregnancy?- get examined and speak to a GYN.

is there anything i can do to boost my hemoglobin. i have had iron transfusion and ferritin is up where it need to be also had myemectomy to remove my fibroids. so no more hemmorhaging but it still is low and my wbc. trying to see if can improve. ?

It seems: you are on the correct track, although it can take weeks for an improvement to occur. Retesting iron levels maybe needed, as well as checking for other causes of anemia. So it is best to see your doctor with these concerns and further testing, as needed.

had fibroids and very heavy bleeding to my late 40's. used mefenemic acid, still on utovan. no menopause at 56; sometimes with little pressure when wiping after urinating feel pain and see pink blood and feel a possible growth just inside?

Turmeric in: No literature has proven to shrink fibroids. You can try it but don't hold your breath

i went to the er due to severe pain in my right side. the er doctor said i had numerous fibroids. they ruled kidney stones but could not see it. what should i do?

Get to GYN: The er is there for an emergency; they have to take their best guess and make sure your not dying.  You may need an ultrasound if not done but you probably had a ct.  See your ob/ gyn, he may have felt them on pelvic but they are harder to see on ct scan than ultrasound.
