It depends....: The are warnings about possible dangers of taking venlafaxine (Effexor) and Adderall, specifically causing increasing risk of a very dangerous condition known as serotonin syndrome, as well as excessive weight loss, and other concerns regarding increased side effects overall patient safety. Therefore, you must consult with your prescribing psychiatrist before taking these Rx in combination.

True: Everyone is different, but generally these medications work at cross purposes, as Adderal is a stimulant and xanax (alprazolam) is a sedative. The concern is that neither will work as well as it should, and you will have more side effects than with either alone. It is hard to switch tracks after 5 years but I would give your new doctor a chance

Medication effects: I commend you for safety concerns about medications which you are taking.

Cymbalta may increase the effects of Adderall- jitteriness, nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, and racing thoughts.
Combining these medications can also increase the risk of a rare but serious Serotonin Syndrome with confusion, hallucination, seizure.
Please go to ER and see a Psychiatrist for Diagnosis and treatment.

so taking low dose adderall and low dose ultram are not good to take together? i am prescribed by my dr one 10mg adderall twice a day, 50mg ultram 3 times a day, and one klonopin twice daily.... i trust my doctor but people are human and make mistakes? i

Interactions: Technically, Ultram and Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) do have an interaction in that they can increase the risk of seizures, more so with higher doses of each. And Ultram and Klonopin can cause central nervous system depression (can make you extra sleepy and not know what you're doing) as well as respiratory depression (decrease you're breathing). So you might want to talk to your docs about these interactions.
