Poly pharmacy: The two medications have opposite effects, so it doesn't make sense to take both at the same time. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is a stimulant that is helpful in ADHD. Ambien (zolpidem) is a sedative/hypnotic drug for treating insomnia, it helps you sleep. However, if you take Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) in the morning, it is acceptable to take Ambien to help sleep at bedtime.
