i took diclofenac 75 mg twice daily for 7 days from oct 25th based on ortho doctor advice for my shoulder tendonitis problem.i have stomach pain which i suspect gastritis that i had 10 years ago. pl tell vegetarian food and medicines i can take. tq?

: Take antacid liquid such as mylanta as directed on the bottle for a couple days for fast relief together with famotidine or pepcid OTC 20 mg, twice a day until your symptoms completely resolve. There's no need for vegetarian food, only avoiding spicy and oily foods.

Not necessarily : Data for selenium pills is not favorable  at all. The meds we know heal gastritis are Proton Pump Inhibitors like nexium, (esomeprazole) Prilosec, Prevacid, etc.. But the key is to avoid foods and irritants that keep leading to higher acid levels-tomato based products, vinegar, citrus, alcohol, cigarettes, chocolate, spearmint/peppermint, spicy foods, hot temp foods.

As above : Gastritis is very coon and can happen even without lithium. Discuss with u physician , if truely  lithium is the cause u can switch to different medication.

Some needs that: Protonix (pantoprazole) is often used as a once a day medication, but can be more effective if used twice daily--because it has a very short half-life of about 1 hour. So taking it at breakfast will not provide much help by dinner hours. So, if the gastritis is significant, twice daily dosing is often advisable. Toxicity is very rare with 2x/day dosing.
