Reglan (metoclopramide): Hi, Why are you taking Reglan (metoclopramide) for? Is it for nausea or the stomach motility issue  or GERD? If that's for Motility issue or GERD you should take it before meal, otherwise you can take it whenever necessary for nausea/vomiting.

Mastic Gum: If you have GERD, Mastic Gum (available in a health food store) should help.  1,000 mg per day for at least two weeks.  That should eradicate H. pylori, the spirochete that causes GERD, ulcers, and stomach cancer.  Mastic gum also heals gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Severe side effects: Any med has some risk of side effects; when prescribing, we balance benefits against risks. When combining Compazine with Reglan (metoclopramide), (metoclopramide) rare risks of side effects of each are magnified &amp; include confusion, fever, fast heart rate, stiff muscles,&amp; involuntary movements. Recommend asking a pharmacist how long after Compazine it's safe to take Reglan (metoclopramide).Zofran (ondansetron) may be safer choice to ask doc about

Gastroparesis: There are other medications like eryhtromycin could be tried and anti nausea medications may be worth a try.

You may need to see: your doctor again, as Reglan (metoclopramide) does not seem to be working very well for you.  Certainly, take very small meals, chew thoroughly, drink liquids with meals, and lie on your right side after eating to help stomach to empty.  Good luck!

Might back fire: Reglan (metoclopramide) is a prokinetic, meaning it makes the gut move faster.  It can make it move faster one way or the other .  So if you are having vomiting or diarrhea, it could make it worse.  Reglan (metoclopramide) is used in folks whose GI tracts do not move well, ie delayed gastric emptying.  If you have been prescribed this, then talk to you doctor.  Don't every use something prescribed for someone else.  Try probiotics.

Yes: May cause some over sedation, but some people have neurologic reactions to reglan (metoclopramide) that the benadryl may counteract.  Not sure if would have a additive effect on migraine pain though.

Yes: Depakote has many drug-drug interactions, especially with other anticonvulsants. But there should be no problem combining Reglan (metoclopramide) with depakote.

Yes: Both thorazine and reglan (metoclopramide) are treatments for hiccups. Would start with one or the other, probably reglan (metoclopramide) (fewer side effects) in a low dose such as 5 or 10 mg three times per day. If reglan (metoclopramide) ineffective could try thorazine or possibly Compazine
