i was on a 10 day taper of prednisone i took my last dose at 6 am yesterday. when can i take naproxen or ibprophin?

Today after 6 am .: Prednisone half life is maximum 4 hours . You need 5.5 half life to eliminate from your body and that is about 22.5 hours, so if you give 24 hours after taking predinisone then you will fine to avoid drug-drug interaction and can take one of these nsaid.

i have patellar tendinitis,naproxen seems ineffective,have gi issues so i can't take much of it. would cortisone shot or prednisone pills help?

Yes,possibly.: Go see an Orthopedist for this knee.They will give you your best path to recovery.

Let your doctor know: and see what they say and have it recorded in your chart. Usually it's safe, But your doctor knows your history, other medications, medical conditions, things that would make a better decision if s/he knew about it first to then advise you on it now.

i'm taking prednisone 10 mg 2 tabs /am 3 days. can i take aleve (naproxen)  with it. i'm taking norco 10/325 for knee pain. do i need call my doctor. thanks?

Prednisone (steroid): Norco (acetaminophen and oxycodone--a narcotic) and Aleve (naproxen) (NonSteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug)  all work it different ways to alleviate inflammation &amp; pain.  In theory, they could all be used together, but, since you're in THAT much pain, yes, you should run this by your doctor.  Best wishes!  Dr. Anne.

is it okay to take 3 aleve within 24 hours? i took 1 pill at 11 pm last night. i took 1 at 9 am this morning and then 1 at 9:15 tonight. the back pain is excruciating & i cant take more prednisone until tomorrow?

Ask Prescriber: Ask your prescribing doctor if you can stop the prednisone. It could be irritating your stomach and causing you the nausea and vomiting. You may still need it- don't have that information available. These are general recommendations.
I would consult your doctor as soon as possible to feel better. Sounds like you have are getting over sinusitis and picked up something else

Either.: You can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) AND Advil OR Aleve.  Do not take both Aleve and Advil as they are the same class (NSAIDs).  If you wish for more pain control, you can take tylenol (acetaminophen) as directed &amp; also take one of the NSAID's in between Tylenol (acetaminophen) doses. Don't exceed the rec. dose of either one. but you may take the recommended dose of each, just not within an hour of each other.  Using them both increases relief.

i was prescribed flexiril, prednisone and aleve for a slipped disc. never taken a muscle relaxer before & i suffer from anxiety disorder. is this safe to take? side effects? all meds ok to take together? nervous to take a muscle relaxer?

: Muscle relaxant can be taken for patient with anxiety disorder. This medication has a lot of adverse effects but tolerable.
If you are concerned about Flexeril, taking Prednisone and Aleve is enough by my experience. Take Aleve with full stomach and watch your stomach symptoms when taking these 2 drugs.

Probably OK: Both of these drugs can irritate the stomach, and together they can be a one-two punch.  However, many patients do just fine especially if they did not have stomach issues to start with.  Your prescribing md will be able to tell you what to watch out for.
