Time heals: There was a study on vertebroplasty - apparently it is not a useful procedure.

Medicare will not reimburse for them I am told.

Compression fracture: Compression fractures take 2 to 3 months to fully heal, and because you have 3 of them, I would expect some degree of discomfort for several more weeks. Notify the physiotherapist if any of the treatments cause significant pain either during or after the therapy.

Brace and Rest: Generally at your age unless you are on high dose steroid for any reason, you will most likely heal from these fractures quickly.  If the pain persists longer than 1 month i would consider an evaluation from a spine specialist to discuss your options.

Followup: Compression fractures usually heal over a 8-12 week period but can cause pain up through about 6 months.  Physical therapy is not an intervention used commonly to treat fracture pain, which is usually activity related.  You may either have to give it more time or arrange followup to make sure pain us not coming from something else.  We also can do kyphoplasty for persistent pain from vcf.

Usually the injury is secondary to a fall and 
will require a cast for 4-6 weeks to heal.

Yes: The treatment is different based on how bad the fracture is.  It can vary from non-operative to repair to removal of the kneecap.  Your orthopedic surgeon will be able to give you more specific info, but yes, you can recover from it.

Conservative: Most are managed conservatively, although if they are significantly depressed, causing neurological injury or cosmetically deforming, surgical options do exist.
