Weight loss: To lose weight insure that calories burned &gt; calories consumed. Drink at least 8  - 8 oz glasses of water per day. Try for 8 hours of sleep/night.  Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables &amp; 4 servings of fruit per day. Use whole grain when possible. Avoid sodas, alcohol &amp; junk carbohydrates. Get in a good mix of aerobic &amp; weight lifting exercises.  
BUT - at age 17- do you actually need to lose?

Stay active: Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Your body releases endorphins during exercise, which can help you feel calm. If you exercise 30 - 60 minutes a day, your stress levels can improve. When stressed, take 5 slow, deep breaths with your eyes closed, then roll your shoulders forward 5 times, then back 5 times. This will slow your heart rate and release tension in your neck and shoulders.

Yes but no matter: MRSA is carried on the skin and is in the dust in homes where infected people live. Any skin-to-skin infection can be transmitted by close contact including sex. In other words, just sharing a house or bed with someone with MRSA is enough. Sex itself usually isn't the issue.

Good question: I live near an airport and wear earplugs at night because I am sensitive to the noise. It helps to some degree. There are machines that produce white noise that may help or make your own (turn on a fan, listen to music). Make sure you are nice and relaxed before getting into bed. Take a bath, drink some sleepytime tea and try to take your focus away from the noise and count those sheep!

Sleep hygiene: The first step is to clean up sleep: go to sleep and wake at consistent times each day. Spend no more than 15-20 minutes trying to sleep in a dark, quiet room. Relaxation and imagery techniques may help if racing thoughts. See your doctor if problem persists.

Multiple kinds: In general, a biopsy of the swollen lymph gland or suspicious mass/lump has to be done to establish a diagnosis. Then, once diagnosis is made, some staging work up have to be done that at least would include- blood works, imaging study such as pet /ct scan, a bone marrow biopsy, an echocardiogram.  Dsicuss further in detail with your oncologist.
