plz answer. why does my mom have urgency high blood pressure when she change the diabetes medicine? it happened 2 times, when she change or add diabetic medicine she had urgency bp. now dr want to change diabetic medicine & i'm afraid of that?

: This is best negotiate with the doctor taking care of her. There some high blood pressure medications that are diuretics and may contribute to urgency. If the diabetes is not well controlled she may also have urgency and some diabetes medication may also cause it. You do not have enough information here; so help her, along with her clinician, to get to understand the cause so it could be resolved.

Severe HTN: It's more accurately: severe HTN with mild symptoms. Mostly BP doesn't cause symptoms, but when it's very high (we're talking &gt;200/&gt;110 - sometimes much higher), there may be angina, heart failure, or encephalopathy. If severe, it's a hypertensive emergency. "urgency" is a term used for a borderline situation.

Urinary tract: You have a urinary tract infection separate from any candida issues. You need antibiotics. A good naturopath would have started  there. I think a second opinion is mandatory in your situation!

: Probably your UTI was caused by a bacteria resistant to the antibiotic you took. Check back with the clinic or doctor treating you. Good luck.

: You need to see a GI doctor for ruling out inflammatory bowel disease. Persistent high red blood cell count, i.e. erythrocytosis, is usually observed in people living in high altitude region or heavy smokers or sometimes in people with a kidney mass. CT scan with oral and IV contrast is indicated.

Vaginitis: A vaginal odor is usually caused by certain organisms causing a vaginal infection. Not all infections will produce an odor. Bacterial vaginitis and sometimes trichomonas are the more likely culprits. A left over tampon can also cause an odor. Although urine frequency may mean a bladder infection, vaginitis can also create urethral irritation which will elicit urine frequency. Only testing can tell.

IC: If you are asking if an indewelling catheter in the bladder reliefs the symptoms the answer is no. If intermitent catheterization, specially if medication is put in the bladder, that may help; but a catheter by itself will not help at all.

IBS signs/symptoms?: The GI tract has a very limited # of symptoms to signal its distress--nausea/vomiting, diarrhea/constipation, bloating, pain, fullness, bleeding, etc.  As you know, many of these characterize ibs, but are also seen with inflammatory, infectious, ischemic, malabsorptive, and functional disorders. Directed lab work, imaging, biopsies, stool studies are appropriate in excluding non-ibs pathology.

UTI: You should have had a resolution of your symptoms. It's time to know go back to your doctor to consider a urinary culture  and or another diagnosis
