i have a pain behind my right eye that started 2 days ago. it comes and goes. it lasts seconds and occurs every few hours. any ideas? no other symptoms. last eye check january this year. could it be eye strain?

: You are at about the age when the lens in the eye is not so easily compressed, but usually that would be picked by the ophthamologist or optician, it is possible that you might have pain from changes in the blood vessels impacting a nerve. This can frequently cause migraines. I suggest seeing a neurologist.  Best wishes.

Dry eye: Using the eyes as on a computer will not really strain the eyes, but if they become dry, you will feel the symptoms of strain or blurriness.  Try using over the counter articial tears every hour or so when working at the computer and stand up and get away from looking at the computer every 1-2 hours for about 5 minutes.

Some ideas: If postural changes are causing visual symptoms, see your pcp to review. Get blood pressure checked for possible orthostatic changes. Meantime, take breaks from the cell phone. Try to find a healthier balance and make time to be with others face to face. Hope this helps. Take care.

Many possibilities : Your symptoms may be a manifestation of high blood pressure  or hyperactive thyroid gland.Consult a physician and get your blood pressure check  and lab work for thyroid .There are many other endocrine disorders that can have similar presentation. So make an appointment with your physician and initiate the work up

dry eye, ocular migraines & eye strain & fatigue. eyes checked regularly tear ducts plugged. can that contribute to double vision lasting a minute or 2 while on computer? had to close eyes. no other symptoms. happened a while ago and never again?

: Transient double vision, while  working on computer, can happen not infrequently to many normal individuals secondary to eye fatigue, and would not be a cause for concern if occurring but once "never again".
