i had a laparoscopic colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis surgery on 1/18 and i am experiencing cramping when i lay down and at night. is this normal?

Still early: Our surgery was only a few weeks ago, give it a few more weeks and i suspect things will get better.

Colectomy: It refers to taking out most of the colon or large bowel to the sigmoid and attaching the end of the small bowel to the sigmoid colon

Local vs peritonitis: Presumably this refers to an intra-abdominal anastamosis, likely intestinal. "Contained" means the leak was probably slow and there was time for an inflammatory reaction that kept the leak localized and maybe small. Free means intestinal contents leaked more widely into the abdominal cavity. Free is much more serious, usually with peritonitis. Most important that you discuss with your surgeon.

Variety of causes: Anastomotic leak is a term used to describe the breakdown between two surgically connected sites and is often used to describe GI anatomy. This may be where two pieces of bowel are brought together, or the outflow of an organ such as the liver or kidney is connected. When organs leak, infection in the abdomen can ensue. An exploratory laparotomy is the right choice to find and fix the leak.

will tiny anastomosis leak after a colon resection heal after two or more weeks of invanz & tpn, along with colon resting?

Complex : If it is tiny, it should most likely resolve as the omentum seals it. Usually with a leak, bowel rest with TPN, antibiotics for a short period (not established) 2-4 weeks and +\- percutaneous drainage  can replace the need for further surgery if the leak is tiny.  Usually this requires a follow up CT study with oral contrast and many factors.  (ID prespective) - may need surgery later

if big collection pus & faecal matter leaks 4m rectal anastomosis all way down 2 obturator foramen an out both sockets hypotheticaly if not drained out, my questions wud b wat wud happen,can pus an especially poop actualy dry up an dissapear entirely?

Evaluation: Many things can go on: abscess, tumor, obstruction, hernia, bowel inflammation, etc. Best is to be evaluated by your surgeon or er.

i had a partial sigmoid colectomy ten months ago, diverticulitis symptoms gone.  still have chronic llq pain.  lifting left leg causes pain.

See doctor: Talk to your surgeon about this. I don't like it that you have pain when you lift your leg. You might need a ct scan of the abdomen to make sure there were no complications.

total colectomy with permanent ileostomy conducted 6 years ago, and rectum was stapled by the surgeon. since few days, some liquids mixed with blood are going through the rectum with no new symptoms and the ileostomy working well. what is the reason?

Post-colectomy : I would be concerned about inflammation/ irritation of the pouch. I would recommend that you must be evaluated by the gastroenterologist as soon as possible.

A significant change: I am sorry you have to go through this tough surgery. But sometimes that is the only way to treat several serious conditions. Is there any consideration for reconnect the bowel with your rectum, or maybe have an ostomy created?
