husband has aaa stent. right groin was site of heart cath as well as aaa stent .3 weeks post op still has hard swelling.is this bad?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily: He may have had some bleeding into the area after the cath or groin exposure for the AAA stent.   If the wound is healing well and isn't red or draining this should resolve.  If there is a lot of pain, redness or drainage from the wound you should call the vascular surgeon.

had aaa stent operation 12/13/16 aneurysm was 4.7 cm, 1/17/17 ct decreased to 4.4 cm. 6/12/17 ct increased to 4.6 cm.what if it keeps getting larger?

I think that it: is possible that you have misinterpreted the report and are looking at outside diameter rather than inside diameter. In addition, if properly placed the stent will not allow the aneurysm to expand. This should be discussed with your vascular surgeon. It is surprising that you have required another CT scan and therefore I suspect something else is going on. Have him/her explain this to you.

i recently had a bunch of surgeries to drain out my kinder of infections and replacing a stent and removing rocks and i have this yellow ish discharge?

Kidney stent: It is not clear where the discharge is from, your nephrostomy site or in the urine ... It is best to call the urologist for an in person examination and evaluation for treatment.

mom(55)had sarcoma ot, right kidney was removed. then chemo had to stop as her urine was blocked. used pcn . 20 days ago dj stent was inserted but 2 days ago again urine blocked. after passing now passing very small amount with white discharge?

Variable: colon, diverticulitis, other may cause symptoms. Needs work up, colonoscopy and end.
AAA usually does not.

when i lay on back and touch above and left of belly button i can feel heart beating. worried about aaa. no other symptoms. is this normal?

Probably normal: Consider a routine office visit with your local health care provider. Remember to include this concern in your medical history. During the exam watch for them to listen to your abdomen with the stethoscope pressed firmly in the area you felt the heart beat. If there is a concern, at the end of the exam they will ask for additional tests. You will have more peace of mind going forward.

i had a ureteric stent removel five days ago and straight away had very small leakages was told it will go away is it normal and when will it ho away.

Probably OK, but: Check with your doctor to see if your have urinary tract infection and follow up with the surgeon who performed the stent procedure if the leak continues. Good luck!

Yes: If it ruptures, you can bleed to death which is why surgery is recommended if it becomes large or expands rapidly.

Recovery is variable: Hopefully your family member had endovascular or stent of aaa. Your surgeon will release you from hospital when you meet criteria. Recovery is variable. Need to monitor for problems while staying on medical regimen. Fever, drainage from incisions, emesis, excessive coughing and pain should be discussed with your care team. Expect fatique. Help maintain medication schedule. Make post operative appt.

i have terrible pain. is it probable i have an aaa?

Yes, but...: AAA is usually on the bottom of the list of problems that causes pain in your abdomen, and sometimes your back.  Common things happen much more commonly.  However, if you have a family history of aaa, get checked out asap.
