Not necessarily: You can't tell if something is hyperfunctioning from thephysical appearance of the gland.  A thyroid scan is the best method to suggest whether or not a lobe is hyperfunctioning.

Goiter: An enlarged thyroid gland is called a goiter.  Symptoms can be related to overactive thyroid function or underactive. Overactive symptoms include shakiness, palpitations, diarrhea, sweats, nervousness. Underactive symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, constipation, coarse hair and skin. If your gland is enlarged you should see your doctor.

: As long as you have no extra symptoms during exercise then you should continue the routine or you can reduce the frequency to 3 times a week and pay attention to your body during exercise. Good luck with your test.

Thyroid diseases: Graves is an autoimmune disorder and can be variable in its presentation, course and response to therapy. It can be normal to have hypothyroid after treatment for graves. Okay to be monitored and treated by your doc or endocrinologist.

i have a 8.5 cm nodule on one side and a 2.0 cm nodule on the other side of my thyroid gland. my doctor says i need a raiu, then go see an enchronolog?

Thyroid mass: You should consider a biopsy first. One may also consider surgery. A negative biopsy is not 100% accurate. Sometimes small cancers can be missed. The growth of nodules are important also. If rapid growth then remove. Slow growth favors benignity but does not guarantee it. In short take out the large nodules.
