Several things: An infection is the most likely cause, but other things can cause swollen lymph nodes as well....Your doctor needs to examine you and possibly run some tests to determine the cause before it can be treated....

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Depends: When assessing for lymphadenopathy, the nodes may be  evident on one side only if the condition causing their enlargement is on that side.

Behavior over time: This may not be a lymph node. Other things under the arm swell and get painful.  If there is clear redness, warmth, pain and discharge or a central "plug" to the lesion with a very superficial appearance this is very likely benign.  If there is progressive enlargement without the signs above it is time to see a doc.

switched from antipersp deodorant to natural 1mo ago. having swollen painful nodes in arm pits, discoloration, rash,etc. tried tonsof different brands?

Contact dermatitis: Hi, thanks for the question.  It seems like you developed a rash in the area where you applied the deodorant.  If this is indeed the case, you likely have an allergy to the deodorant.  The reaction is called contact dermatitis, meaning irritation where the deodorant touches your skin.  The main solution is to stop using the offending chemical or product.  Hope that helps!

my daughter has an enlarged lymph node in left arm pit. it has been swollen for coupe of weeks however it did go way down and then came back ?

Enlarged node: A biopsy of the node is in order to determine  its cause.

Get it checked out: Swollen tender lymph nodes in the arm pit could be due to an infection or something more serious.  this should be check out by your physician very soon.  Until you are seen, heat applied to the area may proofed some benefit.

Could: happen.  Lymph nodes will get sore when body trying to fight off infections.  Could be due to the cold could be skin irritation. But wait until you feel better. If the nodes don't calm done look for other causes.   Since you are not feeling well I believe this is the cause

Abscess: Put warm compresses on it and watch it for a few days. Try not to squeeze it. Get with your physician if it's not getting better in a week.

Lymphadenopathy: When lymph nodes enlarge it is often due to their performing their designated function in helping to fight off an inflammatory process.  If these remain enlarged, are fixed to underlying tissues or stony hard in consistency they should be seen by a doctor.  Or if you are overly concerned, do that for reassurance. Best wishes.
