Several things: An infection is the most likely cause, but other things can cause swollen lymph nodes as well....Your doctor needs to examine you and possibly run some tests to determine the cause before it can be treated....

Usually infection: Infection in arm is a usual cause. You may feel the node periodically, if the lymph gland doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.
