What is wrong: What is wrong is that you realize that you have a potential problem, but haven't seen your doctor yet.  You deserve better!  swollen and achy lymph nodes can be due to viral or bactrial illness, inflammation, infection, or cancer. Have your doctor examine them and your worrisome moles.

See a doc.: There is know way for us to know what may be causing this from your question.  Much more info is needed.  It certainly sounds like you need to be seen promptly!  The cause may be serious, or it can be minor.  Get checked out today to find out which!

If you are certain: That this is not part of your skull then i would recommend your doctor evaluate this.  Painless, hard, immobile subcutaneous masses should be examined and possibly biopsied.

how many lymph nodes can you feel in back of 2 yo head? i feel clusters at base of neck. not swollen but 4-5. 1 is tiny like sand but mobile. normal?

Likely normal: We have many lymph nodes in our  neck.  They are more noticeable (easly palpable) in thin patients and in patients who have an active infection or inflammation.  If they are small (pea-sized) and mobile, they are likely normal.  If it persists, becomes tender, or enlarges, see you pediatrician.  Also if it seems the l ymph nodes are merging into 1 mass, see your pediatrician.

what would cause a swollen lymph node on the back of the head in the center of the neck? is that possible? and what causes it it's been there a while.

May need a biopsy: How do you know its a lymph node? It could just be a little benign fat tumor called a lipoma. Your doctor should palpate it a decide whether it needs to be biopsied.

Those : Those are unusual symptoms, and head swelling is very rare.  Please have an immediate medical evaluation by your doctor.  If you have increased pain, swelling, fever, vomiting, weakness, numbness, or if your doctor can't see you right away then please go to the er.

Probable abscess: A painful lump in the neck is likely a carbuncle (staph aureus abscess).  The headache may be referred pain.
