It depends on size: Unless these nodes are large(more than 2cm) you do not need to worry. But many diseases affect lymph nodes. Some of the considerations include infections(tb, sarcoid, fungal infections), lymph gland cancers like lymphomas or cancer spread from the lungs or elsewhere in the body. But i would not worry unless they are large enough as the radiologists often over read them anytime they are &gt;0.5cm.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

Lung tumor: Chest or mediastinal lymph nodes associated with a lesion in the lung most often represent metastasis from  a lung primary.  This can further be defined by mediastinoscopy and lymph node biopsy or if in the proper position, thoracoscopy removing the lung nodule.  A PET/CAT before any procedure will tell whether the nodes are malignant as whether the lung lesion is malignant.

Evaluation needed: While lung cancer can present like that, there are a fewl other causes for chest lymphadenopathy and a pulmonary nodule, including infectious and inflammatory diseases. Without a doubt, further evaluation is mandatory, likely with a pet scan and likely a diagnostic biopsy. Of course the medical history is important (smoking, history of other cancers etc).

Possibly: Reason for ordering an MRI of chest.  The presence of several lymph nodes suggests more than a localized process.  Nodes along the chest bone represent internal mammary  nodes which usually drain tumor cells from medial breast.  When para tracheal nodes are added if significant should suggest possible lymphoma.  PET/CAT would show other sites of possible nodal involvememt.  Bx necessary for dx.

my ace 173.00 and b2m 3.20 blood tests where elevated...does this mean sarcoidosis or cancer? my doctor thought maybe low grade lymphoma. i have swollen lymph nodes in chest and stomach, some spleen lesions. thank you for any information?

Based on your description, cytology results of the bronchial alveolar lavage or BAL will help to determine whether a biopsy is indicated. If there are malignant cells in the lavage or a worrisome type of cell, further testing is recommended.

I cannot exclude a widespread infection, and although neck pain may be meningismus, a developing meningitis must be considered.  Get diagnosed and treated properly today.

Question unclear: If you had protected sex and there was no inadvertent semen deposited on mucous membranes of mouth or vagina or anus it is doubtful that your other symptoms are related to this.
