ive just had a mini tummy tuck with lipo of flanks. im 10 days post operation. when i sit my lower belly now makes a roll of fat over the incision and the incision tucks in. othis normal due to swelling? will it go down to make a flat belly?

Not usually: However if you have gained a significant amount of weight, you may be putting undue stress on your diastasis repair which could be associated with umbilical pain or you may have a hernia. I would discuss with your surgeon, you may need to perform diagnostic imaging.

i have a pouch tummy 22 days post mini tummy tuck and liposuction above the belly button. will i get flat tummy? i also had liposuction for love handles and i still see them?

i have skin necrosis under my belly button from a tummy tuck 6 months ago.  i am 4 weeks post a davinci hysterectomy and am in great pain. is it related?

See your doc: If you are having great pain 4 weeks after robotic hysterectomy, and have skin necrosis under your belly button someone needs to see you and do an exam to see what is going on.  I would want to make sure you didn't have a serious infection or an incision problem.

recently noticed a lump right above belly button, feels as though it extends down to pubic area. had a tummy tuck 3 years ago so not sure if it's scar tissue from muscle repair or something else. its bothersome and numb.

Could be. : Could Just be scar tissue or could be something more sinister like a hernia. Best to go back to your ‘tummy tuck’ doctor and have him/her evaluate.

my son is 3 and says his tummy is sore by his belly button and his tummy is swollen..  do i need to go to casualty?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If his tummy is swollen and he is not eating or passing stool he should be seen.  Especially important is if his pain comes and goes in 15-20 minute intervals with or without vomiting or diarrhea he could have an early intussusception and this can be evaluated and . treated best when in the early stages.  Although he may just be constipated, it is not possible to exclude the more severe conditions

Hernia: This could be an abdominal wall hernia or a hiatal hernia. Either way you need to see your physician.

Exam advised: This may be an umbilical hernia that gets stuck causing your symptoms. A physician or general surgeon should examine and advise you.

i had my gallbladder removed monday. i did heavy lifing yesterday and started to bleed and swollen above the belly button. sever pain and bruising.

Call your surgeon: It could be s small collection of blood or fluid under the skin, or the sutures on the inside may have pulled through the tissue causing a "hernia". Usually when stitches pull through tissue this early after an operation we call it a "dehiscence". In any case, you need to be seen by your surgeon in the office today.
