Have it checked out: Difficult to say what that is. It could be mastoiditis with spread down the neck. At an rate, based on your description of it being "red hot", that suggests an infection-whatever the source. You should have it checked out before it spreads or worsens.

had acute mastoiditis 2months ago.thought it was gone but have pain in/behind ear and head.could it still be there?no fever or swelling.

ENT Consult: Chronic mastoiditis, which is what may be developing at this point, needs to be addressed immediately. Antimicrobial resistance is a problem, and mastoiditis is treated with antibiotics, ear cleaning procedures and sometimes surgery is necessary. Since you have a fullness in your ear, you should be examined by a physician and have a full+ear exam r/o otitis. Still taking quinidine? See ENT office.

Swimmer's ear: Could be otitis externa or what is commonly called "Swimmer's ear"  Which is easily treated.  There are OTC treatments for Swimmer's ear, but better to be safe than sorry. You should see your Health Care Provider to be sure.

Yes, : Yes, there are multiple conditions that can cause this; the majority of them are harmless, but any lump or bump should always be medically evaluated.  If they became red, painful, if you have red streaks, or fever then you must be evaluated immediately.

Only once: A person can only get mumps once. One of the two diagnoses was  inaccurate (or possibly both). Periauricular lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes around the ear) may represent a reaction to potential infection ("reactive lymph nodes") and is good - nature working for your benefit.

i had a skin infection on my head 3 to 4 weeks ago this was believed to cause swelling behind both ears and in one side of my neck anywhere behind ear was a bad pain as well as welling. i took meds and went back to normal infection me went away on head an

Normal: lymph node reaction to infection. I assume you were treated.- if it  come back, see PCP immediately.

severe tinnitus 6 years. fullness in left side of my head, body aches, lymph node swelling in neck & behind ear. mri's, blood negative. help pls.

ENT follow up?: Possible eustachian tube disorder. An exam by an ENT may help rule out ETD. Epstein barr  or CMV possible. Biopsy of one of the lymph nodes would be helpful in case it's sarcoidosis. Meniere's and rare migraine also a possibility.
