why are my testicles swelling after my hernia surgery?

Post Hernia repair: When you have hernia repair there is trauma to the tissues and surrounding tissue. This trauma leads to swelling and even possibly some edema and pain.  Post operative swelling and pain should subside quickly. This sounds normal so far.

Accepted Answer

Varies: But generally swelling & mild bruising can take a few days to a week or more to redolve. Can depend on medications you may be taking, size of hernia, type of surgical repair, etc. Contact your surgeon to answer your questions or concerns.

when my son was 4 y/o, he had emergency double inguinal hernia surgery with mesh, he is now 35, and sometimes he gets a bout of discomfort on & off on the left side right where the incision is.. no swelling or groin pain. could this be from surgery?

Yes: I'm sure your surgeon doesn't want you to lift weights soon after repair.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Anytime you have a surgery there is an inflammatory reaction and some swelling as the body heals itself. However, if the swelling seems excessive to you or if you have fever or pain, then see your doctor for an evaluation.

i have a high c-reactive protein level (25) after a laprascopic hernia surgery  i still have swelling could this be the cause for the high level?

Likely: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that,  Tissue damage and inflammation from any cause can raise CRP. You may wish to repeat it after you have healed properly , preferably after about 6 weeks.

Likely had hydrocele: Small hydroceles surrounding testes could have made you feel testes were larger than they were before. Ur now feeling true size of testes. Unlikely 2B testicular atrophy as they have only become slightly smaller ; presumably are both similar is size. So u can stop worrying.

You : You maybe describing sciatica.  That is leg pain caused by a pinched sciatic nerve.  Sciatica commonly presents with back, hip and leg pain and may be associated with numbness and tingling and weakness.  Mri scan best shows a pinched nerve in the back.  Treatment includes rest, anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, steroid injections and sometimes surgery.  For more information see my health guide on lumbar disk herniations and sciatica. Confused: Genital lump unsure if on the penis or scrotum or on both unsure if you have only one testicle and Gybecomastia. Suggest evaluation or a simple description of location and size or texture and any accompanying symptoms

what would make my left foot and ankle swell after hernia surgery?  had it done on 12-18-15  and i noticed that my foot started swelling on 12-21-15

Not due to surgery: Swelling of foot and ankle is not a complication of Hernia Surgery.I suggest you have your Doctor check it.
It may be due to edema caused by the Iv Fluids if given during the surgery.If it is painful then it may be some kind of trauma.But the surgery will not cause the swelling
