im out of country on holidays and my tummy has started bulging out like never before.ive had constipation issues but never swelled like this.is it ok?

Don't worry about it: nothing to worry about.  Different environment and food can easily do this.  Try simethicone (even though it has not been shown effective, some patients seem to respond to simethicone.)   If it works, indulge in it.  Try to walk more, avoid overswallowering of air.  Lastly, you maybe constipated, try senna as well.  GI complaints are very common in travel and it is highly annoying.

Common: Holidays are a time where we recall our past time with family and loved ones.  People gather and interact a great deal more.  Sometimes it reminds us of people we lost, or who are far away. Portion control: Use a smaller plate -so it becomes full with less food. Go for healthy choices even though deliciously evil choices are available. Give yourself a "gift" for the holidays by not gaining weight and becoming sluggish. Take care.

No: Poinsettas are not poisonous.  If your toddler ate a significant amount of the plant, he or she might get a stomach ache or have some vomiting / diarrhea, but that would be all.  Ornaments on a christmas tree, however, can cause more serious problems in the hands (or mouth) of a toddler.  Keep these up and out of reach. If you are unsure about any ingestion, call your local poison control center.

It depends: If your holiday/work trip involves traveling in close quarters on a plane or train or bus, then your risk of contracting covid is much higher. If you are driving to the location and will not be exposed to many people, maintain good handwashing/sanitation and wear a mask, you are much safer.

Holidays : The holiday season is often the hardest to deal with for reasons you have just stated as well as many others. And there is nothing whatsoever wrong with reaching out to a psychologist for help, in order to process this loss. In my own practice I have worked with patients who have lost both parents and even children on Christmas day. Do not suffer in silence. Get a referral to a psychologist NOW.

how can lighting fireplaces during the holidays be dangerous?

Creosote buildup: Some chimneys will accumulate creosote, a product of wood burning that can clog part of the air column. Under some conditions the material will catch fire within the chimney & extend to the house. Periodic maintenance will avert this problem.
