my brother may have corona virus. since we all live in the same house.  is it inevitable rest of us will get it too? he mostly stays in basement but often hangs out in living room, at a distance. he had sore throat, now, only has his usual dry cough

Inevitable?: May not be inevitable if practicing a good self isolation for 14 days. No mention if he has fever. In these days may not be easy to get tested for coronavirus. They save the  test kits for the severely ill patients who are hospitalized. The rest have to practice social distancing and self quarantine. See doctor: I don't know if the spray paint is related, but your throat and ear pain suggest an upper respiratory infection of some sort. Strep throat is a consideration, esp if you have fevers, and that would require treatment. Best idea is to have your doctor get the full history, do an exam and then treat you appropriately.

: Heartburn and Vaping can both cause irritation of the mucus membranes in the back of your throat and lead to taste anomalies and even yeast infections. Talk to a Dr about treating the heartburn, and drink copious amounts of water and a diet rich in fiber and fresh fruits/vegetables to maintain a good stomach pH. A Dr can help you quit the Vaping habit and lead to better lifetime health.

Get med-check up: I am not too concerned about the sweet taste in your throat. But an enlarged lymph node may need a physical exam from your doctor. Watch the size of the lymph node over one more month. If it is getting bigger then it is more urgent that you see a doctor for medical check up and further tests to find the cause.

Post-tonsillectomy: It wouldn't be unusual to have pain in the faucial pillars post-surgery for many months. The area takes about 8-12 weeks to scar and contract, so it's not unusual to have some twinges of pain with opening mouth, chewing, etc. The papillae being bigger and sweet taste do not clearly corollate with the procedure. You should go see surgeon and discuss these issues and get examined.

URI: This upper respiratory tract infection is consistent with a viral infection and should run its course in several days.  Hoarseness could be from irritating cough or in infection moving lower down the respiratory tract.  Your pharmacist can recommend a soothing DM type of cough syrup. See your physician if symptoms don't gradually improve or worsen.
