No: Hyperhidrosis (or excess sweating) is more common than you'd think! antiperspirants are the simple answer, but often won't work with true hyperhidrosis. I have had success treating patients underarms, hands, feet, forehead, and scalp with botox. Botox is fda approved for sweating and is very safe and effective. Botox typically lasts for 6 months when used for excess sweating. Hope this helps!

what illness or disease makes you completely heat intolerant and stop sweating? when i get in any type of heat it feels like bee stings all over my body, heart races and feel like im going to pass out. its been going on for a year or so?

: There are different conditions that can cause this but one of the most common is thyroid disease. You should definitely have your thyroid function tests done. You should see your doctor and get these blood tests done ASAP. You’ll feel better quickly if this is the cause and you get treatment. Good luck to you!

Fever/night sweats: Are part of body's response to infection. Immune response is improved at higher body temperature. You might still be spiking temps while having night sweats.

See your doctor: There are good treatments for hyperhidrosis (sweating too much). First, make sure you are not on a medicine that contributes - some anti-depressants commonly cause this.  Before stopping them, however, discuss it with your doctor.  Injecting Botox can be extremely helpful.  Also there is a chemical called drysol that can be applied before bed and works great as well.

Parkinson's Disease: There is evidence of autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction in patients with parkinson's disease (pd). The ANS works in automatic nerve regulated functions that we have no control over, like blood vessel constriction when we stand up or acceleration of the heart rate when we walk. The sweat glands function is also mediated by the ans. Profuse sweating is then seen with its involvement in pd.

I suspect it is: Most likely due to perimenopause/menopause. Due to low estrogen levels. If uncomfortable, hrt may help. Sometimes drugs like Effexor (venlafaxine) do as well. Should prob check thyroid too. Some rare tumors can sometimes cause severe sweating but there are also very noticeable other symptoms associated w these. Finally some medications can cause excess sweating as a side effect.

Although not a...: ...complaint I hear commonly from my celiac patients, a search engine check of the internet did reveal several reports of sweaty palms and feet in association with celiac disease that improved with a gluten-free diet.
