A member asked:

I am a male 52 years old with parkinson's disease. what is causing me periodically during the day to start sweating profusely?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Parkinson's Disease: There is evidence of autonomic nervous system (ANS) dysfunction in patients with parkinson's disease (pd). The ANS works in automatic nerve regulated functions that we have no control over, like blood vessel constriction when we stand up or acceleration of the heart rate when we walk. The sweat glands function is also mediated by the ans. Profuse sweating is then seen with its involvement in pd.
