However, if you are asking about surgical options, depends on where nerve pinched. Options include foraminotomy posteriorly or anterior diskectomy and fusion. Both have merits and cons that should be discussed with your surgeon. Disk replacement not for spurs.

Simply removing the bone spurs does not remove the underlying process, but merely takes away the symptomatic spurs. Unfortunately, the bone spurs may recure as the underlying arthritis progresses.
