They are all caused be diffent mwcanism of injury.

Knee swelling: Knee swelling has nothing to do with the location of the pain.  The knee, like most joints, has a capsule that surrounds the joint and keep the fluid contained.  When there is an excess of fluid due to injury or inflammation, then the knee will swell.  You will usually notice the swelling either above (proximal) the knee or the lateral aspect as these are weaker/thinner areas of the capsule.

Exam and X-rays : Medial knee pain after a tka and manipulation could be several different things . A thorough exam, x-rays and possibly lab work would be helpful.See your ors. Limping alone can cause knee bursitis.(pes). Scar tissue remaining in medial gutter, overhang of tibial baseplate, low grade infection, a condition called mid -flexion instability, referred pain from hip ; and others should be considered.

Many possibiliities : It could be related to various structures- meniscus, medial collateral ligament, tendon problem (semimembranosus hamstring tendon, pes anserine tendons ) or bursitis or referred pain from somewhere else.  Should be examined by a knowledgable medical provider and possibly an MRI or musculoskel ultrasound if  it persists for awhile.

See below: An MRI is the most sensitive test to evaluate the structures of the knee.  Plain xray do not show the soft tissue structures (cartilage, ligamants) in detail.

knee osteotomy is used when you have early-stage osteoarthritis that has damaged just one side of the knee joint. By shifting your weight off of the damaged side of the joint. Check it out.

Get it evaluated: Unfortunately what you are suffering from are called mechanical symptoms associated with the meniscus flap getting caught in the joint. There is poor blood supply to the meniscus therefore there is a low probability that it will heal on its own. Therefore i suggest an evaluation with an orthopedist to discuss possible options to treat the meniscus tear.

what does dissecting the medial facet of the patellar mean? what was taken out? what does medial extrusion mean? i have a lot of knee pain please help

Knee cap issues: Strange terminology. The patella or knee cap is dome shaped on the underneath. The medial facet is one half of the domed underneath. I suspect they tried to clean up/smooth out some uneven cartilage due to wear and tear.  Medial extrusion simply means that the tissue (usually meniscus) is protruding or bulging to one side, commonly  when the meniscus is torn.

Knee pain: medial mensical tear.  MCL sprain.  Anserine bursitis.  Anti inflammatories , rest and knee exercises may help
