i broke out with red like sunburn rash today all over body, took 50mg benadryl (diphenhydramine) and doesn't seem to help.  two days ago i was in bed all day because every joint in my body hurt and had no energy or strength... not sure if it's related.

Viral Illness: If your rash is red, raised, and itchy you could be suffering from acute hives (urticaria). Hives is a common manifestation during are shortly after a viral infection which it sounds like you are suffering from. Try treating with OTC nonsedating antihistamine like Zyrtec (cetirizine) 1-2 per day and symptomatic management (increased fluids, rest). If rash not responding see doctor to have evaluated.

She needs to be seen: By a dermatologist. In addition to psoriasis , the generalized rash could be due to many causes- underlying medical condition, allergic reaction to meds/ foods, autoimmune condition , toxic epidermal necrolysis etc let the specialist make an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment! hope she gets better!

Topical steroid: I would try a 1% Cortaid (hydrocortisone) like cream twice a day for a couple of days.  This should help--if not---please see a dermatologist.

Probably no STD: Syphilis can cause a body-wide rash, but not hive-like and usually not itchy. If you think you're at risk for STDs, get tested. But an STD is not a likely cause of this rash. Most rashes like this are due to drug allergy -- which could include an STD drug if you're on treatment. In that case, contact the doctor treating you. Good luck!

: Your child's pediatrician should examine him/her. If the bumps are very itchy an allergic reaction is a probable cause. Another possibility is a viral infection called molluscum contagiosm which can occur in a 1 year old and may take months to go away. You may be referred to a dermatologist for verification of the diagnosis and for advice.
