i have an itch on my testicles/scrotum for 2 months and flares up, ooze fluids after bath, red and very dry skin. i use antifungal sulfur soap and it doesn't work. i need a better ointment or cream please?

: You need a moisturizer that can be bought OTC. Cetaphil works for me when I itch. If no result, consult your urologist.

any over-the-counter cure for rosacea/seborrheic dermatitis on face (facial dandruff)? can i use sulfur soap? ointment?

Yes OTC: For patients with seborrheic dermatitis of the face, we suggest treatment with a low potency topical corticosteroid cream, a topical antifungal agent, or a combination of the two.

can i use a sulfur ointment twice a week if  if i use other acne products? i use a benzoyl peroxide wash in the mornings (it's gentle) and an otc azelaic acid suspension. at night the cleanser and moisturizer are gentle because i use tretinoin.

Accepted Answer

Caution mixing: Benzoyl peroxide can be combined with Sulfur, Adapalene, Clindamycin, and Salicylic Acid. Sulfur medications can cause a severe allergic reaction. Do not use Benzoyl Peroxide/Sulfer during treatment with tretinoin (Altinac, Avita, Renova, Retin-A, Tretin-X). Using these medications at the same time could cause severe skin irritation even if used at different times of day.

i burnt my hand & leg with sulphuric acid. i went to er & they applied burn gel and wrapped affected wounds.  next day,they removed the wrap & told to leave the wounds to dry & gave an ointmen for the open wounds. i am in pain and not sure what to do?

How much pain?: You may take paracetamol, no more than 4 g/day, no alcohol. If that does not make it tolerable, you should see a doctor. Be sure to apply the antibiotic cream you were prescribed. If you develop excessive discharge, puss formation or swelling at the site, see a doctor. Drink enough water and juice to keep your urine mostly colorless. If you can, increase your protein intake to facilitate healing.

can you use sulphur 1x if you're allergic to sulfa?

Sulfur is not sulfa: Sulfur is an element that is part of many molecules. Sulfa is a term referring to a class of drugs, mostly antibiotics. Allergy sulfa drugs doesn't mean allergy to sulfur. Sulfur is not a commonly used medicine.

: Give it time to heal. If there are any raw ares, apply triple antibiotic ointment. Quit shaving your genitals, it is unhygienic.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

what is the next for scabies when ivermectin, permethrin, sulfur lotion, benzyl benzoate don't work? 8 years now. bugs still create tunnels. borax, water & peroxide solution helps to sleep. i use sanding sponge in bath to sand tunnels like dirt?

: 8 years is a long time to have scabies. Best to see a certified Dermatologist &amp; have a new Baseline Assessment of the rash/lesions on the skin. Then follow the instructions as completely as possible including washing &amp;decontaminating - clothing, beddings, towels, scarfs, hats, shoes and all potential hiding places for mites &amp; bugs. No: Sulfur soap is used for acne. It sloughs old skin and has a drying effect.  The vaginal tissues are far too delicate that . You do not need to scrub out the vagina.

Accepted Answer

Depends: Creams/lotions/powders that you apply to the skin are not absorbed in significant quantities so they are fine to use when breastfeeding. This assumes that they are never applied near the breast, where nipple contamination may occur.

ACNE: Your dermatologist can give a special  soap if needed. You can use any antibacterial soap
