hi! so, i've had this white bump on my lower waterline for a few months now. it looks like a zit, but i've read it could be a stye. what should i do?

i develop swollen under my lower eyelids! when i blink it hurts and it's very red inside! i don't think it's a sty cuz there is no pimple there!

Internal sty: There are stys that are external (the pimple is easily seen) and those that are internal  (the pimple is not visible, as in your case). I suspect this is the case for your condition. Warm compress the area, gentle massage and see ophthalmologist if symptoms are not improving in a day or two.

i'm just getting over a sty but i now have hard pimple like bumps on my stomach, hips, and legs. they do not itch but some are tender.

Not related: The sty of the eyelid usually resolves with hot compresses. As for the unrelated bumps elsewhere, i believe they be keratosis pilaris and may feel better with moisturizing lotion & creams, and sometimes better with exfoliation lotions. However, to be certain, an examination of your skin would be necessary. A family doctor may be all that is necessary, or if particularly stubborn, a dermatologist.

Yes: 25 year old lady with upper eyelid bump and eye irritation. It is quite likely a sty or chalazion. You can use a warm compress applied to eye for a few minutes and then wash your eyelid/eyelash area with some baby shampoo. If the problem gets worse, see your physician for an exam because antibiotic ointment can be used. Try over the counter artificial tears for the eye dryness.

will a stye eventually pop like a pimple?  and if so, is it safe to gently squeeze the build up out?  some say it can spread infecton... thanks

Sty = pocket of infe: Unlikely to spread, but squeezing isn't recommended either.  Press a warm wet washcloth to the area for several minutes at a time to help bring it to a head and drain itself.  It might take a few days.  Try not to traumatize the skin around your eyes.

Yes, local infection: A stye is a likely diagnosis and is a local infection caused by a plug sweat gland.  You should see an ophthalmologist for further care if it returns.

Get examined: to rule out herpes ophthalmicus ( blisters around your eyes.), Do not squeeze the pimple. You will also need to have a thorough eye exam to make sure infection has not spread into your eyeball.

Maybe/not: A stye is usually a bacterial infection of a gland near the root of an eyelash at the edge of the eyelid. The tear glands within the eyelid can also become inflamed &amp; this triggers a chalazion, often more central within the eyelid. Both may  respond to heat/warm compress but you may need treatment. Your doc can sort it out if it doesn't self heal.

Eye mass: Most bumps on the white part of the eye are harmless, but sometimes they can be serious.  The causes include irritation from dust, wind and the sun, infections, accumulation of mater, or cysts.  Certain underlying conditions which cause dryness of the eyes can lead to bumps and irritation.  See your eye doctor if you feel dryness, foreign body or irritation.  You may need steroid or other drops.

Stye: Probably a stye. Apply moist heat with a cloth and that should bring it to a head and discharge and then heal. Good Luck
