i have a sore throat and tight chest. my chest hurts when i breathe and even when walking. my son had strep throat recently... could i be getting it now?

Probably not: It is unlikely that strep throat is causing chest pain when breathing and walking.  This is exactly the kind of problem that should be evaluated by a physician immediately.  This could be something as minor as stress or muscle spasm, but it could be as serious as an evolving heart or lung problem.  See your doctor.  Good luck and be well.

A little: You should be seen. I do not know if you are just having a respiratory reaction form the infection a reaction to the medicine, or some other condition arising...Or nothing.

Sore throat: Get a throat culture to check for strep. If negative, get a test for mononucleosis. Do you have reflux? If so,try taking pepcid,avoid caffeine, alcohol, smoking.  If symptoms persist, consult an Otolaryngologist for evaluation and treatment.

A few more days.: If you have a sore throat without cough/sneezing or cold symptoms; sore throat with diffuculty swallowing; fever over 101; swollen lymph nodes in neck; bright red swollen tonsils with white or yellow spots; go and see your physician to have him/her decide if a throat culture is needed to facilitate the diagnosis of strep pharyngitis.

Wheezing: You may be experiencing some reactivity of the large airways with constriction. This is commonly known as wheezing and can occur with a restpiratory illness. It is like an asthma exacerbation. You can have your doctor check you and prescribe an inhaler to help until the infection clears. You should also be checked for pneumonia.

i get painful chest tightness that affects my back, sides, diaphragm, and throat. they are occasional and sudden. what should i do about this issue?  i currently dont have medical insurance?

Allergic reaction?: There are a number of conditions which may be associated with these symptoms. A virtual consultation is available on Healthtap. An allergic reaction may cause these symptoms, aspiration/reflux and onset of a flu like illness. Monitor your temperature, try an over the counter antihistamine for two days to gauge any change in symptoms. GERD treatment may also be used after assessing the effect.

Yes,but  this: could also be heart pain(angina). See your Dr and be sure your heart is fine.

dry intermittent cough for 3 weeks with throat and chest tightness. i do not smoke. not an issue when working out or sleeping. starts a couple hours after waking up. can pnd cause all of this?

Cough: Pnd can definitely be the culprit if you have it. Allergy with PND or without can do it as well. Acid reflux is another common cause. To remove or lessen pnd, I use neti pot, humidifier in the room through the night if the environment you live in is dry. Acid reflux - prop the head of the bed, avoid overeating, tight belts, supine positions after meals, lose weight. Try Omeprazole or prevacid (lansoprazole).

Dyspneoa: Do you have fever? Do you feel like having flu? Can be infection such as Covid. Asthma if you are known with asthma. Are you female? On contraceptive? Can then be Pulmonary thrombosis. In the absence of all of above can even be anxiety disorder. Suggest consult Doctor or casualties.
