why is my blood pressure going up when im taking meds for it, it used to keep it down?

Blood pressure: Your prescriber should know that your blood pressure is no longer controlled. Take your BP log with you. Sometimes just weight gain may cause it, but definitely worth having a visit with your doc.

No problems here: 1. You don't have enough data to make any determination from your blood pressure and the postural changes. Your readings are well within the margins of error for any blood pressure measurement devices on the market. 

2. Your youthful body has compensation mechanisms to immediately adjust and maintain blood pressure over almost any postural changes. Don't expect to see changes with those maneuvers.

i took a couple of blood pressure  readings and it went from 136 over 75 down to 120s over 70s  and then doen to 113 over 70s is this normal?

Totally!: BP usually falls as you keep taking because the act of taking it raises it! As you become more relaxed and your involuntary nervous system settles down, your BP falls. Note: All of your readings are normal! Congratulations!

my upper blood pressure shoot up to 200 when i was upset and then drop back to normal range.  some time later when i measured my blood pressure it went up to 160 but dropped back down to 125 the next minute. what is happening to my blood pressure?

Multiple factors: The upper (systolic) blood pressure can rise due to factors such as neurogenic (stress), neuroendocrine tumor (pheochromocytoma), intake of excess salt, medications such as steroids and NSAIDS (nonsteroid antiinflammatory medications), hereditary (familial) hypertension or kidney disease. It merits a careful evaluation by ones doctor.

why is blood pressure high immediately after sitting down and taking your blood pressure?

HTN: Take at least 5 minutes to equilibrate before measuring BP. Don’t measur eyojr own pressure. Keep arm at heart level and ask your friend/a person other than yourself to hold your arm. Place the cuff aligned with the brachial artery..if cuff is too tight then readings are high. If cuff is too loose then reasons are too low. Can always go to local chain pharmacy or supermarket and get BP measured.

Not POT: In pots, your blood pressure falls when you stand up.  It's normal for your blood pressure to go up when you stand.  For the most accurate results, wait 2 minutes after changing positions before checking your bp. What you have reported here is not serious, though with all those procedures you have been through, i suspect there is more to the story.

Lower BP: To lower your bp, without the use of medications, you need to eat right and exercise.  Eat foods that are low in sodium is a good place to start.  You should also be evaluated by your physician to make sure there is not a correctable cause to your hypertension.  It is important to get hypertension under control early!

Maybe: If you're overweight, losing weight, or even just being on a diet will lower it. If you drink excessively, avoidiing that will lower it. If you eat a lot of salt, changing your diet could lower it.

Accepted Answer

See your doctor: You may just have anxiety or other benign reasons for your blood pressure to rise and crash, or something more serious (and much more rare!) like pheochromocytoma.  The only way to check is with a detailed history and exam, with labs.
