Many people have a lot of anxiety about getting off pain meds and this adds to their perception of pain.  There  are so many alternatives.

Ask your doc: Usually before you go in for egd (upper endoscopy), your performing doc would send instructions outlining what you can do and when. If you have not received those, you may call his office to ask for those. Different docs have their own preferences.

I would ask: My endocopist if i can take pain meds with small amount of water 3-4 hrs prior to procedure. Many will allow it.

Stop the meds and : Call your doctor.  Not every patient can tolerate every medication and the right med for you should have no side effects.

why do i have constant pins needles and tingling for two years non stop in my clitoris. there is no medical diagnosis and pain meds nerve meds and psycho pills don't work. i can't function like this anymore?

Medullary sponge k: if you truly have been diagnosed with medullary sponge kidney, you're likely to continue making small kidney stones.  It may be possible to break up the larger stones with shockwave lithotripsy.  See a urologist for the current ureteral colic evaluation.  A nephrologist may be helpful in preventing stones and dealing with MSK in the future

ovarian cyst 8 months ago, ruptured, still having very sharp pain currently on pain meds!! all test normal when will this stop. and yes the pain is worse now than 8 months ago?

: You could have chemical peritonitis, a complication of ruptured ovarian cyst which was treated conservatively without surgery and it causes chronic pain. You may need to see another GYN doctor for a second opinion.

Depends: If the soreness is muscular in origin from being open a long time or from stress on your joint, it is usually reversible and responsive to nsaids like ibuprofen. If the soreness seems to be near a tooth that was recently worked on, nsaids will help but you may need additional treatment on that tooth. Give it a day or 2 to settle down and return to the dentist if it persists.

i am prescribed pain med for chronic hip and back pain have a history of cancer with surg and chemo.   over 70 yoa i do drink occasionally.  dr wants to do a urine test to cont pain meds.  how long should i stop drinking before the test?

Drinking/ pain meds: Sound like the doctor wants you to do a drug test. Drinking alcohol and taking pain medications raises concerns that a patient has an addictive personality and all along never needed the pain medication. This may not apply to you but applies to many patients. Most likely if it is true the patient's ego would not allow them to accept it and so the patient continues in the habit.
