Smoking cessation...: There are many different smoking cessation methods, all with variable success. One key component is to replace the smoking habit with another habit-decide ahead of time what you are going to do when you feel like smoking, besides smoking. Then, pick a quit date and let those around you know so they will support you. Any method will then have a higher success rate-pick one you can commit to.

Depends: Start with the number your currently smoking and every 2-3 days leave another one off.  I would prefer to see you throw them away now as you are not addicted to tobacco leaf but to nicotine.  Eliminate all of the pollutants by getting nicotine products and wean off of these.  The most successful stoppers are those that throw out all ash trays and triggers to smoke  essential oils are very helpful.

You CAN, but...: You definitely can stop smoking in one day but the reality is a lot of people relapse. Do not be disappointed if you do.  Several successful former smokers have quit only to start smoking and then quit again. One of the most popular methods being "cold turkey".  Good luck!

Set a date and do it: Congratulations on wanting to quitting.  It can be a tremendously hard thing to do, but a fantastic thing for your overall health and the health of your family.  If you need help, ask your primary doctor, use the website http://smokefree.Gov/ or call 1-800-quit-now.  Avoid hanging around with people who smoke as they will make it hard for you to maintain your willpower.  Don't give up!
