IMPACTION: NO: IMPACTION means no stool passage. You likely have .IBS = irritable bowel syndrome  constipation predominant .You need a full exam and blood work. Especial screen for H pylori . Also stool screen x 3 for occult blood /parasite/hpylori . I recommend a gluten free high fiber diet . Ie gutbliss.com and Wholeapproach.com. Also 64-80oz water. If symptoms persist a CT Scan may be needed.

Perhaps.: Try a fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate). This may help get it out. You can also take a gloved finger and try to work it out. Good luck.

Colitis: the differential diagnosis is vast.
Infectious...need for stool cultures.
IBS
celiac 
and other immune diseases.
drug side effects.
Thyroid diseases
malabsorption/maldigestion
diet indiscretion
etc etc
try to stay on a liquid diet and then slowly introduce a soft mechanical + probiotics...if not better must see a Dr.

hello i was wondering if it was possible to poop solid stool while having a fecal impaction? im having constipation i pooped today after 2 days but i feel like i have blockage?

: Impaction by its definition means there is nothing passing. It is possible to have dilated large bowel with residual "Dead Logs" of fecal debris that newer stool moves around to empty. A complete fecal evacuation accomplished with an x-ray called a barium enema can both visualize and remove retained stool.

: Yes, we see patients with fecal impaction who leak watery material around the solidly impacted fecal material. Fecal impaction is quite uncomfortable. If you think you're impacted, get examined by a physician as, in my experience, manual disimpaction is the only effective treatment if you are truly impacted.

See below: 1. Make sure to drink lots of water daily to ensure proper hydration in colon.
2. Exercise (not necessarily vigorously) daily to help with motion of colon.
3. May try magnesium citrate liquid, polyethylene glycol liquid (e.g. Miralax), and dulcolax suppository.
4. Reduce stress in life - it strongly affects GI system.

bulge on ruq below ribs. painful when pressed. ct scan shows fecal impaction. will this cause the bulge? also have never pain on right side from back surgery 2 wks ago. can this cause a bulge/swelling? been to er and pcp?

: "RUQ pain" may be related to inflammation of the gall bladder.  Ask your GYN physician about a scan to determine whether chronic gall bladder disease may be contributing to the RUQ pain.

can taking 25mg of hydroxyzine once be enough to cause fecal impaction due to constipation? i have been experiencing constipation since taking it. i haven't taken any more. if it is just constipation, will it resolve now that i'm not taking it?

: Constipation is a know side effect of this medication - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.
