i  have been getting a tightness in my upper stomach and it feels like  i need to take more cleansing breaths.  can it be anxiety?

Possibly: The experience of psychological anxiety tends to be accompanied by a variety of physical sensations including, but not limited to, chest tightness, increased heart rate increased rate of breathing/shortness of breath/tingling around the mouth and/or hands/feet, shaking, lightheadedness, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Consider talking to your doctor especially if your stomach tightness is new.

why does gad cause my stomach to be so tight and wake me every morning and start the anxiety cycle all over again? any otc med might help??

No OTC med: There are no non-prescription meds that reliably treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).  In addition to tranquilizers such as Lorazepam (listed on your profile), there are also buspirone (Buspar) &amp; the SSRI antidepressants, which treat GAD &amp; are non-addictive.  They are not OTC.  Psychotherapy can help as well.

Yes: Think of an SSRI in addition to your Ativan (lorazepam)

Yes: How did you sleep last night?  Exhaustion often triggers anxiety.  Anxiety comes and goes and has to do with our general health and with our perceptions.  Yoga, meditation, regular sleep and a nutritious diet are all antidotes for anxiety.  Journaling can also be helpful and cognitive behavioral therapy is also helpful.

Yes: Yes, these are common symptoms of anxiety.  It sounds like your anxiety needs to be treated with therapy and/or additional medication.

im expericing stomach pain and chest pain. my stomach feels tight and doctor put me on protonix. if this symptoms are made from anxiety or stress, will the protonix destroy my stomach? if its indeed not a stomach issue?

: Protonix will not destroy your stomach. You have an advantage: you already know that anxiety and stress are big part of the problem. I recommend you to continue Protonix and download an app on your cellphone called Calm. It has a free component. It has exercises to help with anxiety and stress. If the stomach is not improving and/or anxiety is worse in 2mo,  your PCP for some help with anxiety.

Stress/breathing: Stress & anxiety can cause rapid breathing which subsides when anxiety is eases up.

Right side bloating: Could be gastritis with or without H pylori a bacteria or could be gall bladder or constipation.If lower right side could be appendix.   . Rarely could be kidney or pneumonia, Follow up with  doc over next 24 hours

Test for Pregnancy: If you are sexually active and have missed your period, test for pregnancy. Tightness in the stomach usually comes later in pregnancy, mostly during the third trimester.

Pain: Could be ulcer or  gallbladder problems. This pain get worse with eating or better with eating.
