Other conditions: there is no test for the diagnosis of IBS. it is important to exclude other conditions like Celiac Disease, intolerance to lactose/sucrose /fructose or inflammatory bowel disease which can present with the same symptoms.  IBS responds well to diet, antispasmodics, probiotics and perhaps anti anxiety medications. advice to see a gastroenterologist for further testing.

i was prescribed clindamycin for a tooth abcess.  i have a sensitive stomach and ibs, should i be concerned?

Possibly: clindamycin can be harsh on the GI tract..  Ask doc for something else or at least don't take it on an empty stomach

i took a very small dose of miralax only a 1/2 teaspoon ( small amount due to my sensitive stomach issues ibs). for 2 days now i am having alot of trapped gas in my intestines. can a small amount of miralax cause trapped gas and cramps?

: Maybe/not. MiraLAX is just a binding agent that grabs water &amp; holds on tight, preventing its removal from poop in transit. You may have a specific sensitivity to the product, but it is likely unrelated and more from some other gut issue. Gas is a combination of air you swallow during feeds and gas triggered by bacterial action on the gut waste. Probiotics may help the gas issue.

Diverticulum, IBS: Lower back pain in left side feeling as if swollen may be a number of things:
possible burst of a moderate diverticulum and response of local tissues.
  Also the IBS may give constipation
  Unlikely to be related to the RAI treatment or ovaries.

Not necessarily: You might have food intolerance to any of the pizza ingredients.  Or you might have gastritis, gallstones, ulcer.  Try otc Prilosec or zantac (ranitidine).  If that doesn't work, time to see the doctor for specific diagnosis and advice.

Anxiety, IBS: Mirtazepine is  for Depression. It is not specific medication for Anxiety or OCD. 
It has side effect of weight gain.
It is likely that your IBS is due to stresses causing Anxiety.

Check out the cause: At 33 years, there are still several important things to understand and treat. Be sure that it is ibs and not gallbladder or ulcer disease that can sound like "ibs stomach pain". There fore the best thing for ibs stomach pain is the thing that treats the cause. Please check with your provider that these studies have been done.

Hard to say: without knowing your full health history, and what else has been tried, impossible to give good advice. The best treatment for IBS, especially when associated with anxiety, is to treat the anxiety effectively. Benzos, including Xanax, (alprazolam) are NOT the first line treatment for chronic anxiety. Psychotherapies of various kinds and SSRI/SNRI medications are generally better. Increase fiber in your diet.

what is the cause of mucousy orange stool, that occurs with normal bm but is onset with stomach pain? can ibs develop anytime? when to see doc? thanks

Mucus with stool: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, &amp; even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum, among others. See doc for definitive diagnosis, particularly if mucus is persistent or accompanied by other concerning symptoms.
