ACID INDIGESTION?: Maybe acid indigestion. What did you eat was it fatty, fried, spicy, eat too late. Many many more questions to answer. Do not eat late or do the above mentioned late at night. Drink some water and have bland food and no caffeine or alcohol until stomach settles.

IBUPROFEN, NAPROXEN: Menstrual pain is due to the release of prostaglandins by the body.  Their formation can be blocked by taking Ibuprofen (advil, Motrin ib) or Naproxen sodium (alevel and others) at the first sign of pain or even the day before menses are expected.

Reflux?: I wonder if this might be a symptoms of what we call GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease.  It is where contents from the stomach make their way back into the esophagus.  You could try using over the counter acid reflux medicine like ranitidine or omeprazole for 2-3 weeks and see if it makes any change. If it helps use for 2-3 months then stop and see what happens. Yes: There is a causal link between acid reflux and asthma. However, the reflux has to come up high enough to hit your vocal cords and go down your lungs. Some patients will sleep with the head of their beds elevating using cinder blocks to avoid this problem.

Sick stomach: It is very common to have stomach viruses that cause nausea and vomiting. Should not last more than 2-3 days. Make sure there are not other problems , such as thirst or excessive urination. If so then to the doctor asap.

Severe reflux?: You need to discuss this one with your own physician, who will know your history a lot better than we do.  You probably need upper GI endoscopy to determine the extent of regurgitation and possible damage to your esophagus. If severe enough -- as in barrett&#x27;s esophagus -- you could have some cancer risk.

Vague: Depending upon the duration of your issues, i would see a dr. Asap whom may refer you to a neurologist.  You may need some tests done.  Could be a pinched nerve, but impossible to tell without a history and exam.

It is an alert: It is normal in that your body is trying to tell you something. Burning can be gastritis (inflammation of the stomach) perhaps an ulcer or just irritation after a virus. Something is amiss and causing you discomfort. Spicy foods, peppers, alcohol can aggravate. Acupuncture and chinese medicine can really help as can a visit with your physician if it has been occurring three weeks or more.

is there any reason i'm experiencing stomach burning after drinking koolaid in the morning?

Perhaps: When you sleep, your stomach is filled with normal acid, which occasionally can cause an uncomfortable gnawing sensation. When you get up in the morning and eat (real food), this buffers the acid, and you usually feel fine and good to go. Drinking coolaid does not count as real food and does nothing to counterat acid. Try some cereal or toast or fruit.
