tested positive for herpes simplex 2.  believe it is possible but unlikely. the test was mail in with me collecting sample.i had received a steroid injection an hour before i collected sample to treat symptoms of bronchitis. would this effect test?

No: A corticosteroid injection should not affect the herpes test. Herpes simplex 2 could have been transmitted by a partner who didn't have any eruption.

: Signs and symptoms of acute bronchitis usually resolve by 10 days of antibiotic treatment. In my experience,asthmatic bronchitis, which is accompanied by wheezing, may last quite a bit longer. A chest xray would be advised if you're still coughing up blood after 10 days.

No: Be careful with steroid injections. They NEVER cure the underlying problem. Steroids also break tissues down so you end up with a worse problem later on. Sometimes a steroid injection is good to use as a diagnostic test, but only as a guide for other treatments.

Possibly: Steroid injection into a chalazion can help get rid of it.  If that doesn't work, then surgical removal - a minor procedure in an ophthalmologists office can be done.

Not bad: If you can relax and allow the person doing the procedure walk you through what he/she is doing, then it will be over before you know it.
Local anesthetic is injected into the skin with a small needle and then another needle is placed into the epidural space so that anti-inflammatory drug (steroid) is placed near the site causing the nerve root irritation.

Reverse??: I'm not sure what a reverse epidural is.  Epidural steroids are injected in the spine to lessen inflamation and thereby provide pain relief.  I have never heard one referred to as "reverse".

Steriod: This might be a reaction to the medication or the medication may be superficial under the skin. Check with your doctor.
