Maybe: Depending on the culture and what it is actually sensitive to.  That is why some strains are methocillin resistant (mrsa).  Your doctor will prescribe the appropriate medication for you.

It's protective: Antibacterial ointments are great at preventing infection from getting into your skin. That's why they are great for open wounds and ulcers. If you already have a skin infection, ointments likely wont help much. It may require oral antibiotics or if there is a abscess, drainage.

Fluid from wound is: plasma that usually is part of the inflammatory state.
Redness, tenderness and swelling with fluid in a cut.
Close follow up with your primary doc cannot be missed.

Skin infection: You should be okay as long as you are on antibiotics and you wash your hands with soap

: Yes. Lots of soap and water.  Then more soap and water (much more effective than antibiotic creams and ointments - also, less expensive).  If, and only if, area becomes warm, red or swollen, go to Urgent Care for evaluation
