i have 1.7 cm complex cyst on one ovary and 1.9 cm paraovarian cyst other side found us last week. no period in 3 years and age 42. all labs and hormone levels normal. should i request for more testing other than follow up us in 6 weeks?

: Follow up ultrasound is adequate. A negative or positive marker for ovarian cancer does not make any difference in the diagnosis.

my bun result is within normal range as well as my urinalysis, and my right kidney utz is normal while my left kidney has small renal cyst. my creatinine is sightly elevated. it's 124. in what ckd level do i probably fall under?

: If you have an average BSA (body surface area of 1.72 m2) your calculated GFR is around 63 cc/min, at the low limit of stage 2 (stage 2 GFR 60 - 89 cc/min). You should be followed by a kidney specialist (nephrologist) if you have not been seen. Good luck.

i have a complex cyst in my ovary measuring 6.5x8.9x4.5 cm with two nodules with the bigger one measuring 1 cm. should it be removed and how?

Recommend excision: Complex cysts should be surgically removed in the large majority of cases as the concern is whether the cyst is benign or malignant. The large majority are benign but there aren't any good tests to make that determination without actually removing the cyst. You should consult a gynecologist and he or she may refer you to a GYN oncologist to do the surgery. A laparoscopy may be appropriate.

i'm so scared. my serum creatinine  is 1.09mg/dl. i'm 5'9 68kg.i compute my egfr and its 84. >90 is the normal value. do i have stage 1 ckd?pls help.

See Nephrologist: Ckd staging is not purely based on actual number what we see on report. It depends on other factors. Best is to see a nephrologist for reassurance.

Corpus luteum: It is common to have a "corpus luteum cyst" -- which is not a true cyst, but rather the place where the egg came from, and also the place that helps maintain the pregnancy until the placenta is formed.  Even if they see cysts on both ovaries, the next step is to wait for a few weeks and recheck the ovaries, unless they are so large that they are causing pain or mass symptoms.  Typically benign.

had tv uss 18/08/15 ovaries normal. rescan 11/9/15 right sided 6cm complex cyst 1 septation low level echoes explain pls awaiting rescan in 6 weeks?

Unsure answer: This is difficult to explain without the history as to why the first ultrasound was done and if normal why the second one was done then as well.  Also important whether period is active and still ovulating.  This second ultrasound shows a probable fluid in a cyst with separation but this appears in 3 months so may mean nothing but make sure follow as they are doing.  Need to consult with your Dr.

Ans: Well perhaps. Need a little more history. Has the cyst been there for a while and has there been enlargement in size?  Need some more information. But most often the cyst will rupture on its own

can very tiny thyroid nodules under 5mm and one tiny complex cyst on thyroid cartlidge (not due to thyroid disfunction ) go away on their own? how likely are these to grow?

Accepted Answer

: Unlikely that they will all disappear.  Your provider most likely recommended a monitoring interval (6-12 months probably) to repeat the thyroid ultrasound. This is meant to assess the stability of these lesions. As long as your thyroid function is normal, the current small size of the nodules makes them not dangerous

i have a 11 cm complex cyst on my every.  i had a c125 test and it was normal.  my doctor wants an oncologist to remove it just in case. is this norma?

Ovarian cyst: That is quite a large cyst, and since it is complex it certainly is of more concern than a simple cyst.  Regardless of the ca-125 result the size is concerning, and your gyn is probably correct.  The gyn-onc doctor will be able to provide you with expertise since this is something they frequently have to be consulted on.  Good luck!
