No self-Rx: Pain &amp; Swelling are red flags raised by your body that there is a problem (perhaps infection) requiring professional care.  Please call your GP or an ENT before problem worsens and spreads.

Needs exam: Sometimes old blood drains from the ear canal long after it first formed.  A mild external ear infection could cause some light bleeding.  Either way the ear likely needs to be cleaned out and evaluated.  I would recommend an ent, or your family doctor take a look.

Mastoiditis: You need to be seen and examined, preferably by an ENT doctor.  This could be very severe and dangerous and you should go asap.  Good luck and hope this improves quickly.

: I would go to walk in so someone can take a look.  Most likely too much ear wax is my hunch.  But someone needs to look. You can buy an earlooker for about $20? at a drug store if you have someone who can look. They can google ear wax and look at images to see what yours looks like then decice.

Acute otitis media: An ear infection is most often a bacterial or viral infection that affects the middle ear.
The condition is rare in adults and painful because of inflammation and buildup of fluids in the middle ear.

Outside of your ear.: Are you referring to the front of your ear?   A sudden, electric shock like pain in the face on one side may be due to a condition called trigeminal neuralgia.    There are treatments for this, and your physician can examine you and take a history to diagnose this.

Get seen: Don't wait, I suspect you have an undiagnosed infection, if it progresses you may get quite ill.  It's really impossible to say based on your description.  You have waited long enough- get an answer, a primary doctor or ENT can help. Get help and get better

Yes: Wax and dirt can buildup and lessen your hearing ability without you recognizing it.  Some wax buildup is so thick that you may need to get a solution from your pharmacy to dissolve the wax.  Be careful and follow directions exactly to keep from puncturing your ear drum.
