DVT? Electrolyte: imbalance?  Myalgia? See your doctor. May need some test such as blood electrolyte, doppler ultrasound of the leg . , etc.

Doesn't sound seriou: if lasts for only seconds, it is not likley to be serious.  it could be a muscle fiber twitching or going into a spasm. this could occur with muscle fatigue, or overstretching certain muscles.  perhaps you are doing a particular exercise which is causing this.

i'm having stabbing calf pain and tightness with walking, it calms when i'm resting. i had a negative d-dimer today, any way it could still be a clot?

Calf pain: A blockage in a leg artery can cause this. Absent pulses in the foot makes this the likely cause. It could also be muscular injury of some type. Spinal stenosis, another possibility, is seen in older patients. Your physician can examine your leg carefully and may refer you to a vascular surgeon or orthopedic specialist depending upon the examination results.

stabbing, persistent pain in calf for 2 days in one leg. 500 mg. of tylenol did nothing. i don't exercise alot, but i'm healthy weight and i do move around daily. not red, warm, or swollen. should i still err on side of caution to be checked?

: If there is no contraindication (stomach or kidney problem), instead of Tylenol you should try Ibuprofen OTC 200 mg x 3 tablets, take with foods, every 6-8 hours for 2-3 days. If pain persists to the fourth day, you should see a doctor by then. Deep vein thrombosis does not present with stabbing pain but a ruptured Baker cyst can be the culprit. Local ice pack may be used along with ibuprofen.

Go to ER now: Make sure it is not "deep vein thrombosis"or a blood clot. I hope it is just muscle aches due to undue exercising.

SI jnt pain not calf: SI joint pain refers to low back primarily, but can radiate to upper buttock, posterior, lateral,thigh, and occasionally to groin. Calf pain is not related to SI dysfunction. Visit a PMR doctor or orthopedist for an evaluation to determine the cause of your pain, and start a treatment program

Yes.: Calf pain and swelling may be an indication of a blood clot within the veins of the calf muscles, which we call deep vein thrombosis (dvt). This can occasionally travel in the bloodstream and enter the lungs (pulmonary embolus); this may cause sudden death. Most people with calf pain do not have blood clots, but in the right clinical situation, this needs to be considered and aggressively treated.
