Needs evaluation: B12 is not toxic so high B12 due to taking it is not bad. If someone has high B12 without taking it then it can be a sign of serious  problems including liver &amp; kidney disease, myelproliferative disorders including leukemia &amp; polycythemia vera &amp; hypereosinophilic syndrome. i get extremely painful, burning spontaneous bruising.  the pain is excruciating.  why does this happen?  started in teens and getting worse.

Spontaneous bruising: There are rare conditions such as Gardner Diamond syndrome (autoerythrocyte sensitisation), Dercum disease, lipedema and others that have been associated with painful spontaneous bruising or bruising with minimal injury. Full history and coagulation work up may be necessary, so see your doctor for evaluation.

Bruising?: Presumably this is not traumatic. Consider Henoch-Schoënlein Purpura (anaphylactoid Purpura); Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpera (ITP). Go see a hematologist today!

Minor Trauma?: May be due to trauma caused by tight fitting shoes.   Some athletes will have bruising if their toes are striking the top of their toebox of their shoes.

Hematologist: There are many reasons for easy bruising, and a full scale clotting/ coagulopathy survey may be revealing.

i developed a spontaneous 5"x4" purple/black bruise on upper arm. no injury. 10 days later, no better & arm felt like i had tourniquet on &hand went cold.us neg for dvt, but showed hematoma. what may have caused this? concerns? not on blood thinner?

: Yes, tight follow up will be needed, 1 for resorption/ healing of spontaneous hematoma and second for a possible coagulation related condition for which a hematologist specializing in coagulation disorders would be best.

Many causes: Brusing may be normal, and inherited genetically. It may also be an indication of a vitamin deficiency, or a deficiency in the compounds needed for blood clotting. Your doctor can run simple blood tests to determine the causes of bruising.

Some do, yes: Some mosquitoes in some individuals, bed bugs, spider s, ticks (as in lyme disease) can cause bruises.

Yes: It cause discoloration and be associated with a hemorraghic skin color. This will resolve slowly after the cellulitis is treated. It is important to prevent recurrences by treating any athletes foot infection which is often a portal of entry.

If you mean.....: Petechiae, these are seen in the context of a low platelet count (aka thrombocytopenia). If you have a petechiae rash, you should be seen by your doctor.
