my spine sticks out through my lower back, where the skin on top is slight brown/yellowish. i think this is a result of sitting on hard chairs with bad posture and me being very skinny. is there a way to straighten my spine at home without equipment?

: You have identified why you have the spine changes so correct the sitting posture and probably learn regular spine exercises that would balance the muscles and may help correct the spine deformity.  You may have the return to what you want being slow and you have to persist and make the corrective measures an habit.

my 13-month-old's spine in lower back sticks out a lot and is very prominent. is this normal? he can walk while holding onto things only at this point

Can be normal.: If he is almost walking, it's a good sign. Have him seen by peds, to ensure it s not a spine deformity, which is not common. Without an exan or an image I cannot determine that. I consult would help with healthtap.

Degenerative scoli: Eccentric settliing of disc spacers with age combined with facet arthritis , can produce all of this plus stenosis causing leg pain rarely goes into progressive deformity.

Birthmark?: This may be vascular birthmark which waspresent at birth or de eloped when you were a.Child. If there no other symptoms it does not need treatment. There rarely can be deeper component . Show doc at nex regular visit for reassurance.

Not possible: No way to do that.  My advice would be to work on core strength.  Increasing your muscle tone around the spine will be beneficial and may produce the cosmetic result you are looking for.

Lumbago: Generalized back pain is the most common form of back pain in the us, with 80% of americans experiencing it at some point. If you work in an environment that encourages a lot of heavy lifting, you may notice it more at the end of your work day. If it's just muscle sprain, it can be fixed. However, follow-up with your doctor to be sure it's nothing serious!

Back pain: you need to follow up with ortho doctor to rule out spondylolisthesis (slipped vertebra), etc.  Likely all you'll need is some physical therapy and NSAIDS and some activity restrictions if xray normal

Disc bulge?: Different possibilities but first thing comes to mind is a disc bulge. Let your doctor know.

Musculoskeletal: If you can affect this discomfort by bending, turning, or twisting it would point to a musculoskeletal problem and resting the area from strain should help. If the pressure is higher up other factors like kidney or gall bladder problems could be present and would warrant an exam.
