Yes: If you had a definitive fracture of the ? Thoracic or lumbar spine 5 years ago from trauma( mva, fall etc.) then a good quality ct scan w/ appropriate 'cuts' should be able to visualize in most cases the healed vertebral body fracture.If it was a 'questionable ' fx. Or one sustained w/ minor trauma it may not be seen or appreciated.

Kyphoplasty: A compression fracture that does not improve after 3 months or more with conservative measures may respond to this procedure. A neurosurgeon inserts a balloon like device into the collapsed vertebrae and blows it up. Into this new space a cement like substance is put into the  newly expanded vertebrae. This is done under general anesthesia ANS maybe very succesful for pain management.

Yes, over months: A compression fracture happens when a bone of the vertebral column partially collapses. The cubical shape of the bone deforms into a wedge shape on 1 side. The bone will heal over time with the wedge deformity but that usually causes the injured to have a small loss of height which is permanent without surgery.

Likely no: But there are no guarantees in future predictions.  20% is not a huge degree of compression, and you don't say how old it is, as this could possibly increase or get worse in the future.  How gentle and kind you are to your back now is a factor in if this progresses in the future or not.  You need to stay active, but you need to protect your back from future stress as much is as reasonable.

Stress fracture: We use this term with stress fracture of the hip. This means the bone shorter than normal and the bone little more dense than before.
