Maybe: The picture you describe is certainly compatible with an acute gout attack. However, gout is an extremely rare disease in a premenopausal female. If it happens again, try to see a rheumatologist.

Maybe: This could be mrsa. It might not be.  As long as you've got no fever, there's no penetrating trauma, it's not expanding, and it's not very painful, it is reasonable to see what it does over the next couple of days. Warm epsom salt water soaks, dial soap and water scrubs, and maybe some topical antibiotic ointment would be my home treatment  if the above criteria are met.

? not a spider bite: After a strep or staph infection with strains that produce exfoliatin toxin (and related toxins) the skin commonly peels all over, not just in the area of infection. A bad spider bite could get infected or these infections can sometimes look like a "spider bite". It may be that is what is going on here.

: Are you sure it is a spider bite or insect bite is my speculation. There are spider bites that could be poisonous vs itchy mosquito bite. The healing time actually depends on things like how quickly your body is able to mount a response to contain whatever the insect injected and the white cells in the body respond appropriately. It heals faster if the drying out is not disturbed by a scratch.

Spidet Bite: Wash the bite with warm soapy water
apply some diluted hydrogen peroxide (mix ½ water with ½ peroxide)
wash off the peroxide after two minutes
apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment
ice applied to a large spider bite can decrease the pain and burning.
