i have a 3.5cm spiculated  mass in the left breast, is it cancer?

Breast mass: A spiculated mass of that size in your breast requires further evaluation as soon as possible. Cancer is a diagnosis made by a tissue biopsy rather than appearance on an imaging test like a mammogram. The findings may look suspicious on a mammogram, but it's always better to consider all of the diagnostic possibilities and get the biopsy before jumping to any conclusions.

a ct scan revealed a spiculated mass 1 cm across in my dad s lung he recently had the flu with a bad cough he also smoked for 50 years and quit 2 years ago the doctor wants to wait 3 months and do another ct to see if it s still there if so he will biopsy

Spiculated lung mass: Could be serious.  It is likely that 3 months would not affect anything ultimately but the timing of the biopsy should be up to the physician managing the case.  It is not likely to disappear but could stay the same.

An MRI is next 2 try: 2 diagnose the growth. Next most likely would be a biopsy. If a needle biopsy is opted for it is done by a radiologist who has special training in interventional radiology. Another way is to have it done laparoscopically, the mass does not sound like it is excisable. Surgeon if needed is a general surgeon.

Probable biopsy: A spiculated mass is often worrisome for cancer.  However this also could be from a prior lung infection.  Your doctors may consider a needle biopsy of the mass or a pet/ct scan.  It would be helpful to compare this finding with any old chest xrays or ct scans to see if this is a new mass.

Lung mass: Unfortunately, that is a suspicious sounding mass, and unless there is some clinical history that might provide a potential explanation(e.g. certain occupational dust exposures or infections), the primary consideration for a spiculated lung mass is malignancy.  Biopsy is likely the next step.

Could be high or low: Depending on their size, other tests that might be next (pet scan), your history and whether you smoked tobacco. It's good to see someone who specializes in evaluating lung nodules. Multiple nodules (of the sort you describe) are often benign, as solid tumors tend to be "lone", but rules of thumb are just that.  Its best to see your doctor.

is a 1.5 cm nodule spiculated lung bad?

Possibly: A 1.5 cm spiculated lung nodule should be further evaluated, especially if the patient is a current / former smoker.  Pet scan study might help to determine the metabolic activity of the lesion (higher suv more likely to be a malignancy while lower suv more likely to be benign / reactive).  Biopsy may also be indicated.  Close radiologic and clinical follow up at very minimum.

Spiculated nodule: Spiculated nodule is a warning sign for lung cancer, needs to be followed with serial lung scans and biopsy in some cases. Consult a pulmonologist . If you smoke cigaretts , stop smoking as early as possible.

parent diagnosed with right middle lobe pneumonia  and 3mm slightly spiculated nodule found in lower lobe. can the nodule be caused by pneumonia?

Possibly, but...: Play it safe and get a repeat radiograph of the chest in a couple of months to check for resolution of the nodule.

Solid lung nodule: Since the nodule you describe is decreasing in size, and you have NOT indicated that you are taking any medication, chemotherapy or radiation, most likely the nodule can be followed for another 6 months by Chest CT to ensure its stability, thus radiologic benignity.
